Downloading your world requires SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) access. SFTP is the most reliable method to download large world files from your Tick Hosting server safely and completely.

Before downloading your world, it's crucial to stop your server to ensure data integrity:
- Go to your Tick Hosting dashboard
- Click on your server to open the control panel
- Click the "Stop" button
- Wait until the server status shows as "Offline"
Critical: Never download world files while your server is running, as this can lead to corrupted or incomplete world data.
Use the SFTP connection details from your Tick Hosting dashboard:
Server: node-it-01.tickhosting.com
Port: 2022
Username: username.serverid
Password: Your account password

Once connected via SFTP, navigate to your world folder. The location depends on your server type:
/world/
Standard world folder for most server types
/world/
/DIM1/
/DIM-1/
May include dimension folders
level.dat - Main world data and settings
region/ - Contains all world chunks (.mca files)
playerdata/ - Player inventories and data
data/ - Additional world data (advancements, structures)
poi/ - Points of interest data
- In your SFTP client, navigate to the
/world/ folder
- On your local computer, create a folder to save the world
- Right-click on the
world folder
- Select "Download" from the context menu
- Wait for the download to complete (this may take time for large worlds)
- Verify all files downloaded successfully
Large worlds can take 10-30 minutes depending on size and internet speed.
